![]() Normally with capture devices I add only one device, use device audio, and select "capture only". Is this the way Elgato instructs that OBS should be used with this device? You've configured the Elgato to not capture audio, but instead to play audio to Elgato Sound Capture, which is the device you've added above. Normally a video capture device in OBS captures audio and video together. You've got the Elgato added separately as an audio device, and as a separate video device. Much appreciated if someone could walk me through how I can get this working.ġ9:08:30.951: -ġ9:08:30.989: WASAPI: Device 'Speakers (Elgato Sound Capture)' initializedġ9:08:31.066: WASAPI: Device '1-2 (STUDIO-CAPTURE)' initializedġ9:08:31.067:. I hate being that customer who needs to return an $800 computer because of silly issues like these. ![]() I have about 10 days left on my return period on the desktop and the capture card is probably out of the return period. Unfortunately with Game Capture HD I'm running into problems with the software crashing and losing the videos, so Elgato has told me to try OBS to see whether the problem is their software, my deskptop, or the capture card. Not the "best" computer for gaming but I only really play games on Xbox, and it's PowerSpec so I can upgrade things if I need to. I bought a brand new desktop that I am using only for recording video with a 8-core AMD processor and a decent graphics card and a solid state drive. Elgato support told me that my previous issues could have been with my desktop (it's older but still passes the required specs) or it could be the software. (His had a volume knob on the bottom and he said his problem was that that volume knob was turned down.) I'm wondering why mine doesn't have these settings. Notice the formatting on mine is wonky, and is missing many of the settings his had. I have attached a photo of what I see when I click "advanced audio properties" as well as a photo of what the other guy saw when he opened it. When I click it I get a totally different menu than he did. I found one video where the user recommended clicking on "Advanced Audio Properties". In Game Capture HD what I would do is, set it to analog when I wanted to record game chat, but when I wanted to record party chat, I would set it to HDMI (I was able to record party chat without needing the chatlink cable.- I only need it for game chat.) ![]() Also, I am not recording ANY desktop audio.Ģ) I have a chat link cable that I use ONLY when I'm talking in game chat. I use a microphone and interface for my voice. I record gameplay videos of me playing game + the live game/party chat on my Xbox One. Asides from the audio it looks like it's working fine.ġ) I am NOT STREAMING. To me it looks like it is configured properly. ![]() I have also selected the capture card as the audio device. I have followed some tutorials- I have selected "Use custom audio device" and picked my capture card from the dropdown menu. So far I am able to get my game audio and my desktop microphone audio, but not any game audio. I wanted to avoid using OBS because it doesn't seem as user friendly, but here we are. I was using game capture HD but Elgato support told me to use OBS instead as there were serious problems with Game Capture HD that had resulted in me losing hours of video. I was hoping that the elgato sound capture utility would fulfil my wishes but it seems like it is completely incompatible with the 4k60 pro card.I have an HD 60 S and a brand new desktop. I just upgraded from an Avermedia Live Gamer 4k60 to the Elgato 4k60 pro because I was told by Avermedia support that my desired usage scenario was impossible with their card. I stream using a mirrorless camera with a shotgun mic attached, and I often move the rig around during my streams so having one less cable helps a lot with maneuverability. ![]() I like to have both my audio and video coming through a single HDMI cable instead of having separate cables for both. My system receives the HDMI audio input from the capture card in the elgato 4k capture utility and on OBS as "Game Capture 4K60 Pro MK.2 audio" device, but that device doesn't show up in the audio devices list in windows or in any other application including the elgato sound capture software. I'm wondering if it is possible to use the audio captured from the HDMI input of my elgato 4k60 pro mk2 with the elgato sound capture application so that I can then pass the sound to external programs via the elgato sound capture virtual device? ![]()
